About
Masterframe
From a standing start
Masterframe (UK) Limited was formed in 1999 and started trading in Feb.
2000. The primary plan was to develop a company, which by having in house
structural engineering experience, offered a unique manufacturing outlet
which could undertake unusual bespoke projects as well as the more routine
multi-unit projects. This would mean that specialist timber and non-timber
items, if required, would be included within the scope of the overall
work package.
The Company registration No is SC193500 and the shares of the company
are wholly owned by MCA Group (Scotland) Ltd. This company also owns the
shares of MCA Homes Ltd and J.Murray Thomson Ltd. Although working within
a group structure, Masterfame is autonomous and provides timber frame
kits to the whole construction market. As the company has developed and
the manufacturing capacity has grown, the current aim is to increase the
proportion of projects undertaken for non group companies.
The company is based in Alloa and operates from a purpose built, 6000ft2
facility with ample yard storage area. It employs three staff and eleven
operatives, and has the capacity to manufacture between 200 and 250 units
per annum, based on an average sized unit of around 100m2
The company provides kits for a wide spectrum of end uses. The range
extends from low rise detached, semi detached and terraced housing for
developers and one off projects, to medium rise flats up to four storey,
healthcare projects comprising medical centres, hospital extensions and
nursing homes, educational projects, and commercial projects.
To provide the facility of speed of erection of flatted and housing developments,
the company now produces floor panels (cassettes) which can facilitate
an erection rate of a floor a day, hence speeding up the process of achieving
a wind and watertight envelope.
In addition the company has provided modular units for projects where
pre-finished units were simply lifted into position and were in use by
the client's tenant within 24 hours.
Future
directions
The company intends to develop both options of large panel and modular
construction in order to achieve the fastest possible erection and therefore
completion time for their projects.
The company has a planned expansion programme over the next few years,
which will necessitate the construction of a new manufacturing facility.
The company has recently taken over the joinery manufacturing capacity
of J.Murray Thomson Ltd., and it is intended that the company will, if
viable, expand the product range to include manufacturing vanity units
and supplying kitchen units.
Wall and floor panels or modules are made within purpose built facilities
by an established and experienced team at our four acre site in Alloa
from where they are transported to site for erection.
